Upon returning home, it is thought that many travelers refuse to isolate as instructed and run the risk of further spreading the virus – quarantining in a hotel facility upon arrival will solve this problem. The UK has also proposed paying those who test positive for the virus £500 as an incentive to isolate at home.
Whilst the decision is yet to be finalized, the policy is expected to become confirmed by the end of the day. With the UK reporting a 7-day average daily case figure in excess of 30,000, it could be a defining moment in helping to stem further spread of the virus.
